Artist Statement
Artistic expressions of an artist are, just as life, ever evolving and changing. Our surroundings change, we move to different places, maybe different cultures. We meet new people and see new colors.

In my case things started to change again once I became involved in art education in public school settings. The children I taught art to have surprised me in how great their natural ability really was to artistically express themselves. And as the children thought that I was the one teaching them, in truth, I was the one who learned a great deal from them. As a result I started to fall in love (again) with the pure joy of using bright colors, simple shapes, and “playing with mud”. Although I have to admit that I might have outgrown the sensual finger painting techniques of very young children, brushes, pallet knifes, sponges, sandpaper, and masking tape are just as useful in creating the desired results.

It is my aim as an artist now to use the sensual pleasure of painting with creamy paint in bright hues to create an expression of delight and well-being in the viewers of my paintings. I strive to make the best painting possible in any given time slot and to grow artistically with every creative challenge I face.

Once I thought I could change the world one painting at a time. Now I am grateful that I still can paint and explore the world around me with brush and palette. It feels good to be able to share the beauty of what I see and feel.

It is my wish that I will never stop changing and evolving into something better. And I wish the same for my art.
